In a cooperative effort by West Side Benevolent Circle, Town of Mansfield Council on Aging & Social Services, Mansfield Bank, and Mansfield Electric, a charitable donation fund has been established to provide financial assistance directly to Mansfield residents who are struggling to pay for their energy bills. In difficult times, families struggle to pay for heating, energy and utility costs due to loss of employment, unexpected healthcare costs or serious illness.  The creation of this fund is unique in two ways.  First, it will help those who are not income eligible for state and federal funding programs.  Second, it will be completely funded by Mansfield residents for Mansfield residents.  With the assistance of all involved, all donations will go directly back to the community.

Donation envelopes will be found within Mansfield Electric customers billing statement over the next few months.  We encourage people to be as generous as they can and know that all donations will directly help those in Mansfield who need assistance.

Net Metering Update - June 14, 2017

On June 5, 2017, the Board of Light Commissioners voted to approve a new Net Metering rate tariff (MDPU 147) effectively lifting the previously adopted cap on any new solar installations for MMED customers.  This new tariff goes into effect July 01, 2017.

Prospective solar customers must submit an application to get Preliminary approval.  Once authorized, a customer will have six months to install and have the system approved for Final Acceptance of the solar array for the net metering program.  Please contact Chris Cox at 508-261-7361 for complete details.
